FANTASTIC WEATHER BROUGHT OUT THE BEST AT 2009 PIMBA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2009 season came to a close at the 14th annual PIMBA Championships on Saturday, November 7, at Gateway HS. With afternoon temperatures that reached the low 70's and evening temperatures that remained in the 60's, the 23 of the 25 PIMBA member bands that participated this year presented a large, enthusiastic audience with a full day of terrific performances.
The final placements by class and scores of all participating bands are available under 'Scores'/'Championships'.
Congratulations to the 2009 Class Champions and all PIMBA member bands: Class A Cochranton Class AA Mars Class AAA Trinity Class AAAA Gateway National Class Kiski
PIMBA also recognized one of only two remaining founding member directors, Tom Monteleone from Penn Trafford High School, who retired from his teaching position on November 9.
All involved with PIMBA also thank the Gateway HS Band---Bob Read, Director---and the Gateway Band Parents for doing a great job once again as hosts of PIMBA's biggest annual event.
Championships and all 2009 PIMBA shows were adjudicated by the PA Federation of Contest Judges (PFCJ). The Executive Director of the PFCJ, Todd Fox, participated in the presentation of awards as invited by PIMBA.

CONGRATULATIONS TO PIMBA BANDS THAT PARTICIPATED IN 2009 BOA REGIONALS & NATIONALS
PIMBA is proud of its member bands that participated in the Music For All/Bands of America Regionals this fall, including:
- West Allegheny on October 3 at the Centerville, OH Regional
- Kiski, Norwin and Trinity on October 17 at the Massillon, OH Regional. Kiski placed 1st in finals & Norwin placed 3rd.
- Norwin, Gateway and Deer Lakes on October 24 at the West Chester, PA Regional. Finals were cancelled due to weather conditions, therefore, prelim scores were used for final awards. Norwin finished 2nd overall and 2nd in Class AAA. Gateway was 1st in Class AA and Deer Lakes was 1st in Class A.
-Blackhawk on November 13 at the Music For All/Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis, IN.
